Mark Haapala is an award winning Director, and an avid lover of all things Film & TV. A classically trained thespian, Haapala's initial foray into the world of entertainment was as an actor.
In 2006, Mark became a crew member on the hit TV show ENTOURAGE. During his 5 season stint on the show, Mark was fortunate enough to find a mentor in the show's director. Haapala's ambitions of acting soon faded, as he found passion for life behind the camera.
A former stand up comedian, Mark went on to Direct, Write, and Produce 14 episodes of original content for the comedic web series CRAFTY, on blip.tv.
In 2010, Mark was one of 14 people accepted into the prestigious Directors Guild of America Producer Trainee Program. The DGA trainee program provided Haapala with the chance to work on big production shows like SHAMELESS and NCIS LA.
Haapala's film, DOG IT DOWN won BEST SHORT FILM of 2012 at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, and continues to be screened and awarded at numerous film festivals Nationwide.
In 2014, Haapala and his writing partner, Stewart Gold , were hired to pen an original feature film for Larry Levinson Productions.
Mark holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University. In addition, he is a graduate of a 2 year Meisner program. Haapala has a reputation for being "an Actor's Director".
